Ukulele Lessons
The ukulele is the perfect instrument if you're new to playing music—especially if you or your child is interested in guitar down the road. It’s easier on the fingers, smaller to hold, and quicker to pick up. That means students stay motivated because they can play real songs sooner.
I often recommend starting with the ukulele because it builds all the right habits: strumming, rhythm, chord transitions, and musical confidence. When the time is right, those skills carry over naturally to the guitar. And sometimes, students realize they just love the ukulele because it's so much fun and easy to bring anywhere—that works too!

Lesson Structure
- Basic strumming and chord progressions
- Note reading and ear training
- Song-based instruction
- Transition potential to guitar
Your Instructor
Hi, I’m Barrett. I love teaching and playing the ukulele! It’s fun, affordable, and easy to learn. It’s a happy, upbeat instrument that brings me instant joy. I've played guitar for decades, and I love it. However, I found that teaching guitar to young students can be frustrating. Ukulele is a great instrument for smaller fingers and those that might not have the focus to practice guitar regularly. When I want something fun and simple, I always reach for my uke!
